Garlic Lovers: What dish served in LA has the most garlic?

metaphora | Feb 11, 200808:21 AM     42

My vote easily goes to the Garlic Soup at Il Chianti in Lomita. It has more garlic than anything I've *ever* eaten. There was easily between 1.5 - 2 heads of garlic in one bowl. It wasn't mellow, sweet, roasted garlic either, but garlic cooked till it had just lost its edge.

The menu described it as a "Roman Egg Drop Soup" and there were chunks of egg in the soup. But there were more chunks of al dente garlic than egg in the soup, around 3-5 chunks of garlic in each spoonful. By chunks, I mean pieces that were larger than cooked arborio rice. It was almost too much garlic, but how great to finally find a dish that satisfies my craving for garlic!
