Since it's been a slow day, I thought I'd report that
Gabriella's (Amsterdam at 93rd) is still splendid. We
started last night with an appetizer that was basically
Mexican eggplant parmagiana: eggplant breaded and fried
layered with Mexican cheese, spinach, and a mildly
spicy sauce. A special entree, puerco in salsa
pasilla, was excellent, and went really well with the
tamale de hongos that we ordered to split with it.
