This is a frozen yogurt, ices, and fruit salad place right next door to Hong Cuc Sandwich Shop at 507 Dutton Street. They opened 3 weeks ago so it was a surprise find when I stopped for a banh mi. They have Italian ices (Richie's), Asian shaved ice, and two flavors of frozen yogurt - always "original tart" , plus a different special flavor every day, which appears on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/thefrozenspoon, www.thefrozenspoon.com). There is a wide selection of usual toppings like strawberries and crushed Oreos, but exotic fruits like longan and jackfruit are also available. I had a small dish of taro frozen yogurt ($2.50), today's flavor. This is a modest portion, perhaps about 3/4 cup. Very good, as was the sample of the original. Though the latter is tangy at first, it has a pleasantly sweet finish, though not VERY sweet. The special flavors are sweeter. In both, the tang is a bit earthier than in other frozen yogurts I've had (caveat: I have never had Pinkberry or its copycats). The two young Asian people working there spoke perfect English (I assume they are American-born) and enthusiastically helpful.
I have never set foot into the fish market that is the other business in this hidden location but the excellence of Hong Cuc and The Frozen Spoon makes me think I should have a look at their neighbor too.
