Wanted to get an old post-college friend that I rarely if ever see anymore something for his wedding gift. We will be going to their wedding reception at Cubanos in Silver Spring in 2 weeks, though their actual wedding was in Jamaica last month I guess. I just got an e-invite that we're invited! We thought $75 would be a good # for us to give. We figured it would be easier for them if it was a restaurant near Kentlands in the North Potomac area where they currently reside, with Rockville being a possibility...
I know Amanda Amante restaurant is supposed to be really good, but it also looks VERY expensive and some say it's overrated... Some restaurants look good on paper, but $75 won't really cover dinner and a tip. I'm not sure what cuisine is their favorite, and I don't know what they don't like either. I know they suggested a donation to the "Fisher House" in lieu of a wedding gift (a foundation that helps military families in time of need) and they offered a Macy's registration for things they need for people that want to give them a gift, but we wanted to personalize the gift and get them something food wise! To me, food is FUN. They're about 42 years old.
Any suggestions for a restaurant gift certificate? Or is that donation to the "Fisher House" a much better idea after all?
