Best Non-fried (steamed, baked, boiled, etc.) Clam(or Seafood)

I found that a lot of threads about clam (and seafood) are referring to fried dish. I am personally fine with fried dish. But, it seems to be too greasy if I taste them repeatedly during my New England Trip for a week. Also, many of the well-known places (clam shacks) do not offer non-fried option.

Where can I taste best (freshest) non-fried clam(whole clam) and other seafoods? I will travel from NYC all the way up to Bar Harbor. Please share with me some places. Casual places (like shack), not far from highway will be preferred.
