Hi All -- I just received an "Amish" turkey from Robison's Prime Reserve (http://www.robinsonsprimereserve.com/...).
The turkey was overnighted yesterday, I opened it just now, and there is no "best by" or expiration date, only a pack date on 11/11/11. So by Thanksgiving, about 2 weeks will have passed. They are closed for the evening, but I will be calling them tomorrow.
I guess I just expected the turkey to be only a few days old, not 12. Also, my wife is pregnant, hence the elevated food safety concerns. Can anyone offer advice? Is two weeks too long to go for a fresh turkey? I will of course be cooking to an internal temp of 165.
