In many trips to France we’ve never been to the Cote d’Azur, and I suppose in that sense we’ve voted with our feet. But we will soon travel there with friends to celebrate and commemorate a trip they fondly recall from decades ago. For this I’m interested to find some lunch places around which we might design a drive and some walks. The impossible ideal would be something along the lines of La Telline, http://www.restaurantlatelline.fr/ (see http://www.chowhound.com/post/la-tell...), in the world-away Camargue (where we will also happily revisit on this same trip before we meet up with these traveling compadres).
Altho after many hours of research I don’t expect to find that kind of place along this coast, still there must be a few small establishments here and there where we can find fresh, simple and honest seafood, sans excessive beach and harbor bling?
Recommendations between Bandol in the west, to Menton in the east, are very welcome. – Jake
