Fresh Salad Bar - Arcadia area - Does it exist??

The Oracle | Oct 24, 2005 04:51 PM

Where can I find a fresh salad bar in the Arcadia area? I’m looking for a good, weekday, to-go lunch option, and have had a hard time finding something in the area.

I’m looking for something like Gelson’s (the Pasadena location, at least). They have fresh spinach and other salad varieties, I add in: raw kidney beans, raw garbanzo beans, raw edamame, sliced mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and red beets.

I’ve been disappointed with Whole Foods in Pasadena because they ‘dress up’ their bean options with oil and seasonings – and I really like them unadulterated, if I'm going to be uber healthy. They have nice hot/cold food options, but it's not what I’m looking for (the ‘raw’ part is really important to me).

I’ve tried Vons and Ralphs on Huntington (neither have a salad bar) and checked the Pavilions on Baldwin/Duarte – which has a salad bar, but it’s mostly cut up fruit, lettuce - no beans at all!

I know such a salad bar must exist somewhere… is there any place like that at the Mall – or even in Sierra Madre or Monrovia??? Does anyone know if the Albertson’s on Sierra Madre/Michillinda have a salad bar?

Thanks in advance!
