Fresh Crab Questions re Cooking, Side Dishes, etc

I have some questions regarding fresh crabs since we are in the middle of a very abundant season. What are some preferred ways to prepare live crab- simply boiled, with or without spices, etc? Served hot, warm or cool? With or without butter, aioli, other? What are good side dishes and beverages esp wine? Any thoughts on using leftovers?
