Formaggio BBQ

trueblu | Aug 7, 2010 04:14 PM

I managed to get to the saturday grill that Formaggio Kitchen has for the first time today. We went rather early (11:30) so there was not much of a queue. Between three of us we had two small pulled pork sandwiches, one small beef brisket sandwich, half a rack of (pork) ribs, and a side of corn bread and coleslaw. With a soda and a modest tip it came to $35.

The pulled pork and brisket were amazing -- the best I've had in the Boston area, including Blue Ribbon. Very, very tasty and tender. The ribs, despite being the most expensive item, were the most disappointing. This was in relation to the pulled pork and brisket mind. I would rate them as good, but not in any way outstanding, and the ribs at blue ribbon are far superior. The house rub on the ribs, was rather tasty though. The corn bread was OK (what more can one say) and the 'slaw was refreshing (no mayo) but not spectacular.

And in terms of value: well, writing this over 7 hours after eating, I'm still very much full, so I would rate that as extremely good value.

Will definitely try to come again in the near future.
