I almost forgot Ly Michael! - long

We have been going to Ly Michael for a long time - first on Haverford Ave., then to Fuzion in the BlueBell area.

Now that these guys have a place at 11th and Arch, we kept forgetting to go there!

We have been there twice recently, and I am happy to recommend it. It's on 11th, right above Arch, and there is parking next door for $5.00 if you get validated. (We found street parking, so didn't need it.)

I always have a hard time resisting the appetizer sampler, which is $8.95. It has the duck dumpling, another dumpling (chicken?), the corn fritter, the crispy crab cake, salad, and spring rolls. (I may not be accurate.) It is delicious. Most of the other appetizers, and there are many, are more like $6.00.

This last time I had an entree I loved. It was chicken with crispy walnuts (crunchy, sweet) and had loads of mango in it. I think it was $13.95. Friends of ours frequently order the carmelized shrimp, which is about the same price. Entrees like lamb and filet mignon are more in the $20 - $22 bracket. They also have fish specials, which sounded good.

We are in this area when we have concerts at the Convention Center, and while we love Lee How Fook, Vietnam, etc. it is nice to have someplace different and a bit upscale.

I heard that the desserts are very good, but we never get there - too full. The wine and liquor are reasonably priced and my wine by the glass was generously poured.

The owners are warm, friendly and anxious to please. I hope they do well in this new location.
