Just returned from a run to East Stroudsburg and a late, late lunch at Flood's on the main drag. I usually grab a sandwich or a burger (pretty good) at Brownie's but thought it time for a change, not necessarily a good move. I could joke about the name Flood's and ask if the kitchen had been flooded thus causing the ridiculously long wait of a half hour for a hamburger!
The sweet waitress forgot my soup order, took intermittent drags on a cigarette between delivering orders, and acknowledged she'd forgotten about the soup and asked if I wanted it along with my entree. (No.) The up side -- the burger was probably about a half-pound, done exactly as I'd asked for on a toasted roll with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and cost $3.50. In New York that would be a $10 plate. Go figure.
