I made the traditional miso cod recipe that everyone is cooking these days almost a week ago. I used white cod which was what was available at my local fish shop instead of the black cod used at Nobu. It turned out ok. The glaze was good, the fish was not melt in your mouth like it is at the restaurant.

Here's my issue - my apartment still smells like fish.

I washed all the dishes and pots and pans from the dinner that night and took out the garbage before going to sleep.

Got up the next day left the apartment, returned at it still smelled strongly of fish. I cleaned the oven inside and out. Left bleach water in the sink for half an hour and washed down every surface in the kitchen. Checked the garbage can to make sure it wasn't the cause. Checked the refridgerator, no smell there.

Left again. Came home and it smelled of cleaner and fish.

Next day it smelled like fish. Re-cleaned the oven including the broiler area below. Decided that cooking other things in the oven would help. Cooked/baked lunch then baked banana bread. Smelled like banana bread the rest of the day.

Next day woke up to fish smell again. Still smells like fish to a lesser degree 6 days later.

How do I get rid of it? I've had the windows open in my small NYC apartment since. Thank you for any suggestions!
