Where would you have a festive, informal, cheap eats wedding rehearsal dinner?

Steven | Feb 10, 200207:38 AM     6

We're New Yorkers in love with Montreal and we're getting married this summer at the Museum of Fine Arts on Sherbrooke, and our guests are staying at hotels on or near Sherbrooke and the Museum.

We're looking for a festive, informal and cheap place to do the rehearsal dinner the night before. It should be downtown within reasonable walking distance of the Musee.

Would love your suggestions. We thought of Ben's deli, but we hear it's not what it used to be and we know it's not the best - but Schwartz's and Brisket's etc. are not walking distance and we don't want to ask folks to drive or cab. We also thought of something in the Latin Quarter like Pizzadelic - mostly because it's in the Latin Quarter on St. Denis, which is a wonderful street, especially for tourists. But is it quite walking distance?

Anyway, please let us know what you would suggest. Thanks so much!
