I felt robbed @ Mama & Papa's New York Pizza in Pasadena

This place is where Terrace Restaurant used to be at on the corner of Los Robles and Colorado by the Paseo mall. Anyone been there yet?

My husband and I went earlier in the month which turned out to be their grand opening. I hated it. When we walked in it just didn't feel like a pizza joint. I'm not sure what style they are going for, but they need to figure out if they will stay like a bar/club or be a pizza place. I don't know about everyone else, but when I think of a pizza place I think of comfort, warmth, welcoming and good food. Even CPK , which I think it's corporate feels that way to me. Yet, this place was the complete opposite. Since we walked in, it just felt weird. It was cold, it was dark, the tables were dirty no one came over until 2 minutes later so we didn't know if we sit ourselves or wait to be seated. The seating arrangements they had were more for a bar/cocktail environment than a pizza joint. So enough about the ambience and lets get to the FOOD.

The food SUCKS!!! We ordered a medium Meatlovers pizza and Spaghetti Brooklyn Style with the homemade meat sauce. It was AWFUL. We honestly felt robbed. Everything came out to be $40 with 1 beer and 1 coke. The pizza seriously tasted like it was a frozen pizza and they threw it in the oven, the cheese was nasty. The Spaghetti was horrible. I could have cooked it a million times better and I'm not even a great cook. Their homemade meat sauce was TRASH. They have cheap ass napkins and only bring you 2 of them which of course with any pasta and pizza place everyone knows you either have thick ass napkins or give out a lot of them. The waitress only came to drop of the food and drop of the tab, she was missing in action. We had to get up and go to the bar for more napkins. The coke that was given to me had so much ice that it didn't even taste like coke, it was so watered down. I had to get a new one with less ice. I hated this place. I feel bad having to leave them such a bad review when they are new, but we honestly felt robbed. Also if this was their only pizza place I would have been more forgiving, but looking at their menu and the 4 other locations they have in LA, is so disappointing that they don't have their shit together. It was just a waste of time for me and waste of $$$$. I don't think I'll be going back this year. If they survive this year, then I will probably give them a 2nd shot next year. All the grand openings I've ever been to from many different restaurants have been great with superb service and great quality food. This one was just HORRIBLE.

Enough said!
