Fandango restaurant, Pacific Grove

A bunch of active seniors, hubby, and I went to Fandango restaurant in Pacific Grove. It's a nice restaurant but not a destination place. website: http://www.fandangorestaurant.com/

Nine of us had dinner there and we had our own room. They have nice olives and rolls on the table. They were good. It was a long time before we got our appetizers.

Ben tried the Bongo Bongo soup-it's a spinach, oyster flavored w/ cognac soup. Serve lukewarm-I'd have liked it more warmer. OK.

Another person got the escargot. She seemed to like it.

Another person tried the tapas appetizer. 5 small servings on one plate that Bill and his son shared. Looked good-they liked it.

Dinner: I had the paella-there were like 2 shrimp, 2 clams, 2 mussels and the whole thing including rice didn't have much flavor.

Ben had the coucous w/ lamb. The coucous had chickpeas, peas in a bowl, in a separate bowl was all the meats (lamb, sausage, carrots, other things) and separate dish for almonds, another dish for raisins that needed to be combined. Also a tube of hot sauce. Ben liked it, I thought it was ok.

No desserts, but a few at the table got wine.

Prices are fairly high but it's a nice place if your not in a hurry and have good company. We did 5 separate checks since the waiter said ok. Ben and I spent $70 including tax, tip, for soup, a glass of wine (didn't try it), 2 main dishes. If u want to see food pics it starts 91-99, rest are Pt Lobos pics.

We hiked at Pt Lobos State Reserve, in Carmel. It's a definate place to Go!!! I can't wait for next year to go again. If interested take a look at all my pics.
