My wife, sister and mother will all be meeting in NYC in late March for a 3-night family get together. Looking for meal suggestions. The only place we have on our list is Ivan Ramen for lunch, although I see that some of you think there are places just as good for less $$. For dinners, we like Italian, French bistro-style and New American. Not interested in a resto like Carbone which strikes me as very loud and over the top. We'd like it to be a place where you can carry on a conversation without having to shout. And we're not interested in Michelin stars either. The last meal we had in NYC was at Daniel, and we're not looking to replicate that -- looking for something much more low key, down to earth, with delicious food. Nothing trendy, just good. And of course we're willing to take the subway into Brooklyn!
