Found this place because my wife noticed it was packed when we drove by on the way to Morris Arboretum. It's fabulous. An old-fashioned diner, by which I mean not an """old-fashioned diner""', heavy with self-conscious retro fakery, but a genuine old-fashioned diner where the waitresses know the local patrons, the menu is printed on paper without ten pages of glossy photographs of someone else's food, and many of the house dishes are named after the owners or members of the staff who concocted the recipes. The food is great, the people are great and the prices are great. It's simple fare but to me it's a destination spot, highly unusual for its authenticity, its warmhearted atmosphere and its straightforward good cooking.
