explosion of Thai in the Castro?? How?

Lamar Gates | Jun 13, 200506:48 PM     6

There's this rumor I've heard. Someone (or some business entity) is financially backing most of the new Thai places in the Castro. In addition to Thai Chef on 18th/Collingwood there are 2 new scheduled to open just down the street on 18th near Noe, Sanchez. Thai is great and all but does any neightborhood really need 10 Thai - or 10 of any of the same ethnic group - restaurants within a 3 block radius? Just call it Little Bangkok from now on. Any dirt on this mystery?
