Ethnic near Falls Church or into DC

I'm a middle management government supervisor being sent to a week's worth of training in Falls Church, VA. I love D.C., but fret I won't get to see much due to my training schedule. However, I would like to hit up some ethnic restaurants while I'm in the area. I'm interested in anything interesting (ethnic or otherwise) near Falls Church, an area of which I'm unfamiliar. In addition, I'm willing to broaden the culinary possibilities by using public transportation. Some 20 years ago, as a kid, I recall eating at a marvelous Ethiopian restaurant (the Red Sea?) with a bar below and a swinging plate full of incense. I'd love to repeat that experience. Jamaican intrigues me, and we can't find either Ethiopian or Jamaican in my town. We do have Vietnamese, Indian, and Thai, which I love, but I would really like some tips on either really good ethnic restaurants, or those not commonly found in your average city, or just funky eating establishments. I'm not necessary limited to ethnic food, but perhaps its my current mood that compels me to stress these options. Lay some choices on me people. I'm going with a midwesterner who has never set foot in DC, so hope to show her a good time.
