My gf and I went to Enoteca Drago for NYE (after discovering almost every other restaurant in town was doing grossly overpriced tasting menus.
We started with two of the wine flights the light bodied reds (pinot noir mostly) and the medium bodied reds (mosly chiantis). They lasted through the meal, and the 2001 Flowers Perrennial Zinfandel/Pinot Blend was incredible.
We had the eggplant rollatini and deep-fried parmesan from the enoteca menu. The deep fried parmesan was sooo good, like funnel cake with balsamic and melted parm in the middle.
For entrees, I had the Carbonara, which was a very good, traditional version, and my gf had poccini(?) with cherry tomatoes and mozzarella, which was very nice.
We finished off with a dessert wine flight and the molten chocolate cake.
Excellent, all told, and well less than half the price of Drago, where we were originally reserved.
