I am based just outside of Boston, and am being sent by my company on a 3 night trip to Marco Island during June 1st through June 4th.
I have never been to the Gulf side of Florida, and will probably have a rental car.
My wife (also a foodie) and I are looking at a broad range of cuisine and prices, as we are not sure yet what my company will furnish in terms of functions that we must attend. So please, Chowhounders, do not be afraid to recommend rib shacks and joints as well as haute cuisine.
I have already been recommended to try Michelbob's for BBQ, and the Bubble Room.
On previous trips to Key West and eastern Florida have allowed us to try Grouper and Mahi-Mahi, which are much more difficult for us to get up north.
