Egg Shop: Not just for breakfast anymore

Janet | Mar 14, 2008 11:53 PM

We love the Egg Shop in Montclair. Have had breakfast there for years. December 21, 2007 they began serving dinner. We went tonight to check it out. We were seated quickly and told the specials. They brought a complimentary brushcetta that was very good. We split a huge Ceasar salad and both of us had hanger steak on risotto. Excellant. The salad was tangy/ crisp with great croutons, the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the risotta was perfect with asparagus, mushrooms, and carrots.

There were families there with small children. It looked like hamburger and fries going by. They have a good children's menu. This is a child friendly place.

Some great sounding salad entrees were on the menu, and pasta's. Many sandwiches were listed also, The manager told us in a couple of weeks most sandwiches are coming off and more entrees going on the menu.

Service was good, they really were interested in whether we liked the food. They are new to the game and checking that customers are happy.

Meal for two, one salad, two hanger steaks, two wines, tax and tip $62.
