The newly opened Over Easy was a big disappointment for us. Located next to Trader Joe's, we looked forward to another breakfast choice, but it turned wrong in just about every way.
First thing you notice is that it's a very noisy space, with all hard surfaces, overlaid with loud oldies diner music. They were busy, but not full. During the meal it was apparent that many people at other tables were having difficulty hearing each other in conversation.
Scrambled eggs -- scorch marks all over and dry.
Hashbrowns -- stale and rubbery, plenty of browning but nothing crispy.
Toast -- served dry and close to room temperature with cold, hard butter on the side (we didn't ask for it on the side).
Jam -- extremely thin, runny strawberry sauce. You couldn't eat a piece of toast without getting a hand full of sauce.
Bacon -- fairly tasteless.
We'll stick with someplace like Avenue Bread, that has great hashbrowns, nicely cooked eggs, tasty bacon, wonderful toast, and real jam.
It's a sad commentary when the best thing about breakfast was that the paper napkin was ample.
