Thanks to MonkeyBrains posting accurate directions to Dumpling Master, we paid a visit for lunch today. Boiling heat in Montebello - showed 99 deg on the car thermometer. Had a splendid feast - three ingredient soup with loooooooooong homemade noodles, plenty of shrimp and chicken and pork pieces with well flavored broth the better to attack our looming colds. Also ordered cold marinated tripe with lots of slivered scallions (they really MAKE the dish) and a heap of pudgy pork and shrimp dumplings - 10 for $4.50 plus a plate of scallion bread made the meal. $20 including tip. This place has zero ambiance - also has a B rating but the rest room was spotless, the service almost lightning fast and the food excellent. Then we paid a visit to Shun Fat market - got lots of buys for $37 including heaps of vegetables plus chicken legs and thighs, 59cents, boneless legs and thighs 1.49 but the high light was duck quarters for 1.49 - I thought a real bargain for fresh duck. We could have completed one stop shopping in this plaza if we had taken advantage of the $7.99 hand wash for the car to the north but the heat precluded that stop!
