duck confit in slow cooker - can I use a liner?

making duck confit in a slow cooker. My method is to immerse in duck fat, and heat it through at about 5pm, then turn it all the way down to "warm" and let it cook very slowly overnight, until lunchtime the next day (almost 20 hours).

I have done this before; cleanup is messy. Will using a liner in the slow cooker affect the cooking in any way?
