I was lucky enough to be able to snag 2 free flights to Jackson for the 2nd weekend of Jazz Fest, as all free flights into NO were either blacked out or sold out.
This is my GF's 1st time in the Deep South (my parents live in BR, I went to college in NO), so food is a focal point of our trip. I've already got our New Orleans itinerary set. But I'd love to grab something interesting in/around Jackson or between there and Baton Rouge, where we're staying for a night. My flight gets in at 11 am, so I don't think I'd want to wait too long before stopping.
I'm pretty much up for anything and my GF is a vegetarian(always eats seafood) who cheats if she deems its worth it. Probably not looking for anything that would take too long. But would appreciate any and all suggestions.
Thanks!
