When I was a kid I used to get dried lychee nuts from the Chinese laundries in NYC.
I can't seem to find that out here. I had a Chinese friend who said they probably can't import them for health reasons.
They looked like walnuts but almost perfect spheres. When you broke them open (paper thin sphere) there was a soft raisin-like fruit with a seed inside. Very sweet and tasty, much like a raisin but better.
Has anyone seen these? SFV location would be best.
