I've been scouting downtown for delicious Korean food, and here's my report.
I ate probably the best Korean I've ever had today at a place at the corner of 13th/Harrison (doesn't have a name in English). Very much a hole-in-the-wall, no other customers, and the only person working there was an elderly Korean lady who spoke little English. She made us amazing food (one person had beef, I had spicy chicken, and another had soup). Everything, including the plentiful and well seasoned portions of panchan (little side dishes), was stellar. The total bill for 3 people was $21.
There's also a place at 14th/Webster that we checked out, which was ok, but not great (not great quality meat was the main downside).
The place at 13th/Webster is HORRIBLE- their dak gui was suspiciously like a slice of Oscar Myer pressed chicken breast, topped with glutinous out of the bottle teriyaki sauce. Yuk!!
Anyway, definitely check out the 13th/Harrison place and enjoy!
