Howdy, all. I'm looking for old-fashioned diners, drive-ins and cafes in Anchorage, Fairbanks and along the highway between the two. Burgers and fried chicken. Places that have cloth napkins need not apply.
The atmosphere is as important as the food. Someone on one of these boards referred to
the Lucky Wishbone as "old Anchorage." That's what I seek. From what I've read, the
Arctic Roadrunner seems to be down my alley, too. Which of its two locations is older?
Any comments on these places or on Peggy's Airport Cafe, Downtown Deli or on any joint
my research may have missed?
Thanks in advance.
