First-time poster, long-time viewer! At any rate, wanted to send a general "thanks" to all the Chowhounders. I did a search for restaurants around the Curran Theater and ended up at La Scene in the Warwick Hotel. I got the Chef's prix fixe menu which consisted of first course Gravlax, entree of bay Scallops and, because they've switched their dessert from a white chocolate to a dark chocolate bread pudding, the warm apple tart tartin. My entire meal was magnificent. I can't rave enough about the tart. The piano guy doesn't play Tuesday night, which was unfortunate. The service was good, not completely amazing, but good. One of my dinner companions also enjoyed her prix fixe meal of the yellow fin tuna and raspberry renversee (she and I switched desserts).
The only slightly sour note was the pan roasted chicken on the prix fixe menu. What was there was wonderful, but a piece of chicken and two pieces of polenta was not quite substantial enough for the two other dinners. It would have been great to see the chicken over a bed of greens (like my scallops) or potatoes. I'd go back again.
