I recently posted on the "Chain" board about my struggle to find vegetarian/vegan-friendly options when I travel. The responses made me think about the broader picture of traveling and dining out with a focus on the food pyramid.
For the past two months hubby and I have been trying to eat Vegan at home. When we travel we realize that there may be milk, cheese, non vegan broth etc. We tend to travel one week out of every eight. I am at a loss with our struggle trying to maintain a diet focused on the top tier of the Food Pyramid of vegetables, grains and fruits.
I would love to see a growing number of restaurants offer a menu with at least one option focused on the top tier of the food pyramid.
