My gf and I had brunch at Devlin's with some friends on Sunday -
It's mostly pub / bar decor, with some booths - I remember Devlin's as divey, but has been very much spruced up - live jazz combo showed up around 11:30.
Some typical brunch items on the menu - various styles of eggs benedict - got mine florentine - I am no expert on hollandaise but seemed fresh, slightly lemon - good amount of spinach, poached eggs had still mostly uncooked yolks - excellent herby potatoes as "home fries". Nice mini-muffins for the table's bread basket - good, fresh, melony fruit salad.
What was surprising were the items that incorporated smoked salmon - the bagel with smoked came piled with a few nice, thick pieces, tomato, cream cheese, with that fruit salad and a side salad - gf was very happy with freshness and lightness, but still substantial.
DCs also enjoyed theirs - one had eggs with salmon on side - again, a very generous portion of that salmon.
Anyway, I was impressed with overall freshness of all things served. Not a destination brunch, but for you Brightonites, definitely consider.
