Dettorre's in Wakefield

We have found a little diamond in the rough. Dettorre's on Water St. in Wakefield (across from Shaw's) is a wonderful Italian cuisine restaurant. Everything is cooked to order and my wife and I have never been disappointed. On the site of the former Toody's Restaurant, owner Gus has a delightful menu of veal, chicken and seafood dishes that satisfy any palate. Executive Chef Domenic cheerfully will come out to your table and make sure your visit is nothing more than enjoyable. My favorite dish there, although not on the regular menu, is the seafood stuffed ravioli in a Pommodoro cream sauce. WOW! Upon presentation, I thought, "I will be bringing half of this home". I ate the entire dish. The Eggplant Ensalada is also a fantastic appetizer, easily shared by two. They have a beer and wine license, Keno, plasma TV's and a lovely little sandwich/bakery take away shop out front. Prices are reasonable to moderate. This place has the feel of a neighbor cafe with attentive, friendly service. If you find your way there, Bon Appetite!
