Dee's Pizza on Metropolitan Avenue (@74th Av) Forest Hills

I think the pizza is equal to Nick's (Ascan Ave at Austin St Forest Hills), and Sac's (Broadway a couple of blocks west of 31 St Astoria), making it 1 of the 3 best pizza places in Queens, in my mind.

It's different from Nick's and Sac's, in that it has a thick bready crust. But the crust is light and airy, so it's not at all like the crusts from nabe slice places. I enjoyed the end crust as much as the pizza...

If you travel to Nick's or Sac's, Dee's is worth traveling to. If you're shopping in FH, it's worth checking out.

Price: 1 pie (for 1 person) (3 people would be happy w/2 pies), 1/2 mushroom 1/2 plain, around $11.

I walked by Dee's yesterday Friday nite 7PM, there were as many people waiting outside as would be at Grimaldi's (well, maybe if Grimaldi's weren't also a tourist attraction lol!).

Searched Chowhound this morning, found very mixed reviews (some very good, some "stay away").

Feet are as important as reviews, so I went this afternoon anyway, and I’m glad I went.
