December 2018 COTM BREAD TOAST CRUMBS: The Peasant Bread Master Recipe

islandmermaid | Dec 1, 201809:05 AM     132

Welcome to Cookbook of the Month!

Please use this thread to post reports on the following chapter of BREAD TOAST CRUMBS:

*THE PEASANT BREAD MASTER RECIPE (p. 22)

Please report here on both the master recipe and any variations you try with it (other than the recipes for variations included in the Breads chapter). Please reply to the main post with the recipe name in ALL CAPS, followed by the page number. You can describe your variations in the title of your post, too, such as PEASANT BREAD VARIATION WITH GRUYERE. If someone has already reported on a variation and you're doing the same spin on it, please add your report as a reply to the first report on the variation. Keeping all reports together creates a more streamlined thread that is easier to navigate for all. Thank you!

*See page 26 for an explanation on how to create your own variations on the master recipe.

*If you don't have the book, you can find the peasant bread master recipe here: https://alexandracooks.com/2012/11/07.... Note that in the book she calls for 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast.

Per Chowhound rules, please do not post recipes verbatim.
