Daisy May's Brisket has arrived...

dkstar1 | Apr 12, 2004 01:33 PM

Not feeling all that well today, Chili from our neighborhood (Wall St.) cart was on my mind. Then, behold, the sign out front says "Try our (chunks of) Brisket - $8 even"(or something like that). And so I did. The cart guy, friendly and informative as ever, proclaimed that this is the best item they sell. He then opened up a container proudly revealing the chunks of beef inside. I quickly ordered one, asking if cole slaw also came with it. Nope. Just pickles (2 slices) and diced red onion. Not sure if it was supposed to come with bread or not, in my case he forgot it if it does, but there was butter in the bag. Hmmm. Anyhow, that's alright I guess. The brisket itself is fantastic. Mixing in some of the onions, I was in heaven. Every bite tastier than the next. Texture was uneven throughout (which I like...most of it is cubed/chunks, some of it "pulled" or torn. The only problem is a recurring never seems to be enough (esp. at $8 a pop). Alas, it was very good and worth trying.
