ciao salve kiss kiss. yes we overspent here saturday afternoon, but what the hey? overall it was a good time.
we had three apps: a plate of ramps, a quail and three mozzarella and squash blossom puffs. all delicious. quail is quail, it was fine, but the other two dishes were both lovely. prob could have used one more app to be a more filling meal unless you have dessert. if you like the usual interesting main specials options were also available, but neither of us wanted a big plate. to drink we each had a glass of italian reisling which was a very nice choice with the food.
for dessert we split a plate of almond biscotti. she had the vino santo that came with it and i had a grappa reserva. unlike the main menu, dessert options are minimal and include standard italian choices like panna cotta, tiramisu, fruit plate & sorbets.
service was cordial and fine, except the staff is rather chatty amongst themselves and that was distracting sometimes. can't blame them tho, the resto was not very busy at this time of day, unlike for dinner when its always pretty full.
the cost was one hundred and *cough, cough* something. as they say, if you have to ask..., right? well that's DA SILVANO folks. a positive is that i love the menu specials, they look interesting as always, even at weekend brunch/lunch. finally, as you can tell we are not made of gold as the regulars here are so as a tip i'll remind that DS is not any more of a bargain at brunch than dinner -- e'un peccato! i'd go back more often if i could.
