Cuban bread to buy?

Cicely | Sep 24, 2009 02:17 PM

I recently tried this recipe for uni pressed sandwich:

It was pretty good, but I wanted to tweak it a bit (more filling, inefficiently pressed). Unfortunately, I used up the loaf of Cuban bread that I brought up from Porto's in Los Angeles. Cuban bread is fluffy on the inside, with a fairly thin crust. It might seem like supermarket-type Italian bread, except that it's more flavorful - I hear it's made with lard. Wondering if there's anyplace I can buy it around here, or if I have to beg commuter friends to make a shop stop on the way to Burbank Airport. TIA!
