Crabtree Kittle House

Hi. I searched and found a good post from Josh M. from 1999 re this restaurant and a more recent post about weddings at Crabtree Kittle House, but was wondering if anyone had any more recent musings to post on the food. My mother really wants to go there for her 60th birthday, but I'm not sure it is the right place. She generally prefers French to American. We have a geographical limitation, however, as my parents want to stay within a 1/2 hour of our home in Hastings. We've been to Harvest, I don't think Blu is nice enough (though I admittedly haven't eaten there, just peeked at the decor and was overwhelmed by cigar smoke) and Buffet de la Gare is closed on Sundays, the day we need to go. So, we came up with Crabtree Kittle House (which my relative recommended to my mother). Any comments on the food, what to order (we're going on the 16th of March), where to ask to be seated (if that is worth it -- I don't like to be a pain), etc. would be great! Thanks in advance.
