I Bought the Costco Fruitcake this morning and can report it is delicious. It's chock-full of fruits and nuts. Has the lighter batter (no molasses) I was looking for. This is an excellent buy at 3.5 pounds for $13.00, and it's very pretty to look at as well as smell.
If I wanted to wait and serve it at Christmas, I would be soaking it in brandy or rum saturated cheesecloth but I think I'll just enjoy a little piece every day since no one else in my family likes it as I do.
To Claudette and Welle, I posted to the original message from yesterday but thought you might miss my reply.
