If you follow the Chinese-American tradition of serving sticky rice studded with lop cheong, Chinese bacon, ham, black mushrooms and other goodies as a side (or stuffed into) the holiday turkey, this is an easy and fast way to prepare the glutinous rice itself. I've been doing this for 5+ years now and get more consistent results than in a rice cooker or stove top. Besides being faster and more reliable, I'm more inclined to make a small amount, a single serving, whenever I feel like it since it's no longer a big investment of time.
