So I finally made it the seven block down to Cocotte for dinner. I'm glad that this place is within walking distance, it is a nice place to have in the neighborhood. True, the service isn't very smooth, as the servers kept mixing up our table with the one next to us, but once we got OUR order it was very good. The chowder of the day was loaded with tasty crab, shrimp and shiitakes. The whole fish, dorade, was nice in its rich caper-tomato-butter sauce. The black cod was satisfying, even if it was a bit overcooked. And I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert, the almond pithivier with caramelized apples - warm, with creme fraiche on the side - proof once again that anything is better when wrapped in puff pastry. And try a glass of the Cote du rhone. I got the one that the table next to mine ordered instead of my Bordeaux, but I didn't complain because it was so good - just like the rest of the meal.
