Truly The Best Clubhouse Sandwich

marcgee | Aug 15, 2011 08:19 AM

A TRUE traditional Clubhouse sandwich is made with Turkey NOT Chicken. And NO turkey "loaf" here please - it's carved DIRECTLY from the roasted bird - white meat only. It's three stories high - not 2 - someone just got lazy over the years and dropped the third slice - stop that please. It has crisp lettuce and includes tomato and bacon - cheese is available but optional. Mayonnaise, when requested, is put on the sandwich prior to delivery - who wants to disassemble/reassemble 3 stories of perfection ? Not I, especially when it took four toothpicks just to hold it together. The sandwich should be cut into four and placed on it's crust side. it should be bursting with ingredients and so tall you need push down on it it just so it fits in your mouth - safety alert; remove toothpick first. The topper, it comes with fresh cut fries and and a side of beef gravy. And where do you find this beauty of a beastly sandwich, as described? Well, the sandwich itself can be found at Country Boy Restaurant in Kitchener Ontario or Jack's Family Restaurant in St. Jacobs Ontario - they are not affiliated - they both just get it right - I have yet to find the same in Toronto, please let me know if you do.

*Note: I believe neither get the fries right - frozen - not fresh cut, but the gravy is done right. If someone truly gets this combination right they won't know what to do with all the added business they receive - good luck, and be sure to let us know if you actually manage to construct this holy grail of a sandwich combo - I'll be the first in line (weekly).
