Arrived on Thursday night, and after Meschiya Lake finished up her set at the Burgundy Lounge at the Saint Hotel at midnight, I walked over to Coop's for a late night meal, only to discover that they now close at midnight. (WTF, what good is Coop's if you can't show up at 1am and get fed?!?!) So I ended up with a delicious (if caloric) shrimp and oyster poboy from Verti Marte.
On Friday, I went to the Meters show at the beautifully restored Orpheum, on O'Keefe opposite the Roosevelt Hotel, just a block outside the Quarter. A buddy of mine who met me at the show reported that he had just eaten a great Mediterranean meal at the 24-hour convenience store next door to the Orpheum. So after the show, at about 2am, I wandered over there and discovered Cleo, a great Egyptian/Mediterranean restaurant housed inside a run-of-the-mill 24-hour convenience store. I ordered a lamb lula kabob, which was really delicious. In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I returned the next night after the Morning 40 show at Vaughan's. The food is fresh and tasty, and the menu (posted on their FB page) is really extensive, with lots of options for vegetarians. And although the place is hardly fancy, there are tables to sit at and clean bathrooms, great perks at 2am!
