I know people in the food safety industry. The San Gabriel Valley/ Monterey Park/ Rowland Heights areas are problematic, they say.
Health Department ratings are a snapshot of restaurant conditions documented during an unannounced visit. I know the limitations of this system, but I generally patronize "A" establishments.
I'm looking for the best, clean restaurants in these areas. Good examples would be Golden Deli and Dumpling House. Maybe it's the nature of their offerings, but big seafood restaurants tend to have low ratings.
