I've noticed that over the last year, the price of fresh clams has really sky rocketed. Here in MD, I used to be able to get a dozen clams (cherrystone, littleneck, mohagony, etc.) for a couple, three dollars a dozen. In the last year, they've gone to $.49 EACH. What's the deal?
Anyone know of anything that might have caused the huge increase in price?
It's really disappointing. My husband and I used to have fresh clams all the time, but paying $6.00/dz is just too much.
