Chowhound mention:

A Message to You, Rudi

There’s a hilarious string of posts on that revolve around the question: Is Rudi (Peter Rudiger, of Rudi’s Wine Bar, which closed in 2001) alive or dead? Several chowhounds report that Rudi suffered a fatal heart attack, and one claims a friend was invited to his wake; another said he recently ran into the guy on the street. Apparently, Rudiger loved a good joke, and no one’s seen an obituary yet. Start with [BROKEN LINK REMOVED] and judge for yourself.
