Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills

Besides mixed reviews on Citysearch, I haven't been able to find out much about this long-established restaurant. I am thinking of taking my Dad on a Friday night for a birthday dinner and am wondering what the word is.

1) I've read that even with reservations the wait can be ridiculous and would like to hear if others have experienced this.

2) What's with the no menu thing? Is it a faux pas to request a menu?

3) How are the portions? Recommendations for the prix-fixe instead?

4) How is the service?

5) Any entree recommendations?
