chip shop: fantastic experience

I was lucky enough to dodge the service (see message below) when a friend brought around some takeaway fish & chips from Chip Shop the other night, so I can't comment on the staff's rudeness. But, as a frequent visitor to the UK and a former Dublin resident, I have to say that the cod from Chip Shop measured up against any I've had over the years: tender, fluffy, delicious, piping hot. It was a mammoth slab, too, with an embarrassment of delicious deep-fried batter. The chips were nice, too, although these are always better wolfed down right away. Still, I was amazed at how well the cod travelled, convincing me to make a visit in the near future. I'll be advised, as per comments below, to bring a thick skin, though, and I'll be sure to avoid the Shepherd's. But those mushy peas...
